20-21 Learning Plan Update

20-21 Learning Plan Update
Posted on 07/31/2020
Greetings Parents,

Last night, the Eureka City Schools Board of Trustees met for over three hours to hear public input on, discuss and determine our learning plan for the upcoming school year. After much deliberation, direction has been provided that we will start the school year on August 24th with a Distance Learning Model. The Board will meet on September 15, 2020 to reevaluate returning to face-to-face instruction.

To support this model, we will have all of our students who are struggling report to school for intervention in small, socially distanced groups. In the coming weeks, we will be focusing our efforts and professional development on creating the best possible distance learning experience for students. While the details of this plan are not yet completed, it will include some face-to-face instruction for struggling students, but the core of the plan will be learning from home.

The decision was difficult for the Board as they worked to balance student and staff safety with the learning needs of students. As the plan is solidified, your student’s school will be in contact with additional details.

Stay well and stay safe.
