Along with many other schools in Humboldt County, Lafayette participated in this year’s International Walk to School Day, held on Wednesday, October 8. Over 50 students walked with us from Sacred Heart Church, down Myrtle Ave to the Lafayette campus. Over 20 additional students walked to school other ways. All walking students signed a banner, donated by Clif Bars -- an organization that has partnered with Safe Routes to Schools. Students were also treated to a healthy fruit snack, also generously donated by Clif Bars. In an effort to continue bringing healthy energy education to the Lafayette community, we have planned a walking to school event on the first Wednesday of each month, meeting at Sacred Heart Church at 7:30 am. Come and join in on the fun!
