Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee Members Needed

On November 4, 2014, voters in the Eureka City Schools District passed Measure S, authorizing up to $49,750,000 in District general obligation bonds. As a result, Eureka City Schools will be forming a Measure S Bond Oversight Committee. The purpose of the Committee shall be to advise the Governing Board and inform the public regarding bond construction projects, their costs, and to ensure these projects are within the scope of the bond. The committee will actively review and report on the proper expenditure of taxpayers’ money for school construction.
The Committee must include a representative of a business located within the school district, a member of a taxpayers’ association, an active member in a senior citizens organization, a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the district, a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the district and active in a parent-teacher organization, and two members at large with interests in education.
The deadline for applications is January 23, 2015.
