MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS BOND PROJECT LIST

FACILITY NEEDS AT ALL SCHOOL SITES

Security, Health, and Safety Improvements including: Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements, including ramps and parking, pathways, restrooms, etc. as required by the State of California and federal law; Repair and renovate school grounds for safety, including sidewalks; Remove hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead based paint, and other hazardous materials; Install, repair, and replace fencing; Secure classroom computers; Upgrade exterior lighting for security and safety; Upgrade and install fire alarm and security systems.

Major Building Systems Improvements including: Upgrade electrical systems, including panels, circuit breakers, transformers, wiring, outlets, and clock systems; Upgrade heating and ventilation systems; Repair, replace or upgrade water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.

Structural Repairs and Rehabilitation including: Repair, upgrade, or replace windows as needed; Repair and paint exterior walls, replace exterior siding, if needed; Upgrade bathrooms; Upgrade kitchens; Repair and replace school building roofs, gutters, and downspouts; Repair dry rot, termite damage, and other needed structural repairs.

Construction and Renovation of Classroom and Instructional Facilities including: Install lowered (suspended T-bar) ceilings; Repair, upgrade, or install interior lighting; Patch, paint, and refinish (or replace as necessary) interior walls and wall coverings, floors and floor coverings, and ceilings; Repair and replace casework and countertops; Repair, replace, and upgrade information technology systems.

Site and Grounds Improvements including: Re-pave, patch or replace, and re-seal deficient parking lot and playground areas; Repair, expand and install irrigation systems.

Furnishings and Equipment including: Install cabinets, drapes and blinds, casings, tackable wall surfaces and markerboards.

SPECIFIC SCHOOL SITE PROJECT NEEDS

WINSHIP MIDDLE SCHOOL (2500 Cypress Avenue)

Security, Health, and Safety Improvements including: Install handrails on gymnasium bleachers.

Major Building Systems Improvements including: Upgrade library ventilation system.

Structural Repairs and Rehabilitation including: Remodel teachers workroom; Remodel main office.

Construction and Renovation of Classroom and Instructional Facilities including: Install one module classroom; Construct multipurpose building including music room and kitchen for community use; Convert building B to three classrooms and staff lounge; Construct physical education/exercise/weight room; Replace one (1) portable; Renovate science laboratories; Upgrade library.

Site and Grounds Improvements including: Improve outside student activity area.

ZANE MIDDLE SCHOOL (2155 S Street)

Security, Health, and Safety Improvements including: Install handrails on gymnasium bleachers.

Major Building Systems Improvements including: Upgrade heating system; Install new wiring and light fixtures as needed; Install new electric main; Replace water supply piping.

Structural Repairs and Rehabilitation including: Remodel teachers workroom; Replace cafeteria floor; Remove, remodel, renovate breezeways, gutters, and downspouts.

Construction and Renovation of Classroom and Instructional Facilities including: Install one modular classroom; Remodel, renovate library space for staff bathroom and work area; Improve music room acoustics; Renovate science laboratories; Upgrade library; Renovate classrooms in building 1; Remodel old woodshop into classrooms.

Site and Grounds Improvements including: Remove trees as needed; Improve ingress and egress; Rework, grade, and seed lower field; Relocate staff parking;.

EUREKA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL (1915 J Street) (INCLUDING THE MARSHALL CAMPUS (2100 J STREET))

Security, Health, and Safety Improvements including: Rehabilitate all facilities for seismic safety.

Major Building Systems Improvements including: Install new sump pump at Marshall Campus; Install new master clock and energy management system.

Structural Repairs and Rehabilitation including: Replace or repair breezeways; Repair or replace exterior doors as needed; Remodel teachers workroom; Remodel main office; Remodel nurses' room; Replace cafeteria floor; Remodel office space at Marshall Campus; Construct satellite kitchen and food service area at Marshall Campus; replace gym floor and bleachers.

Construction and Renovation of Classroom and Instructional Facilities including: Upgrade music room acoustics; Renovate science classrooms; Remove and replace four portables; Improve and expand technology center; Add two classrooms for abandonment of basement classrooms; Install dust collectors in woodshop; Remodel classroom to accommodate large lecture hall needs; Agricultural Complex: remove two portables, replace one portable, upgrade restrooms, and renovate existing main building.

Site and Grounds Improvements including: Improve outside student activity area; Resurface tennis courts; Stadium improvements for handicapped accessibility including construction of new adequate ADA compliant stadium restrooms and snackbar.

JACOBS EDUCATION CENTER (654 Allard Avenue)

Structural Repairs and Rehabilitation including: Repair or replace breezeway posts and roofs; Repair or replace roofs as needed; Repair, rehabilitate or replace gymnasium bleachers.

SCHOOL SUPPORT FACILITIES NEEDS

DISTRICT OFFICE (3200 Walford Avenue)

Security, Health, and Safety Improvements including: Construct ADA compliant restrooms; Improve parking area safety including ADA compliance.

CORPORATION YARD (642 West 14th Street)

Structural Repairs and Rehabilitation including: Repair or replace roofing; Underground storage tank clean up; Remove in-ground lifts.
