ECS publishes School Needs and Resources List
|
A re you interested in creating a meaningful partnership with a student, class, or school? Eureka City Schools has published a site-by-site needs and resources list that can help community volunteers identify where they can help out and what they will receive for their efforts. The School Needs and Resources List grew out of discussions the district had with members of the local business community and others during the Creating Partnerships for Children summit held in 1999. During the 1999-2000 school year, Eureka schools were surveyed as to what their needs are such as tutors, mentors, and material items. The schools were also asked to list what they had to offer potential partners such as service-learning opportunities, positive public relations, and future customers. Copies of the School Needs and Resources List can be found at the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce, Eureka City Schools' district office, school sites, on the district's Web site at www.eurekacityschools.org, or by calling the district's Office of School and Community Relations at (707) 441-2416.
