L afayette second–grade students in teacher Lee Ann Lafaunce’s class worked side–by–side with residents of Alder Bay Senior Living Center at colorful arts and crafts tables last October. Once they were finished gluing stars and bright feathers, they showed off their Halloween masks. The Eureka school has developed an ongoing partnership with Alder Bay. The Eureka Adult School also conducts arts and crafts classes with students and seniors at the facility. And all Alder Bay employees are given time each week to read to Lafayette students. Seniors came to Lafayette a few days after the mask–making to observe the students making apple cider during Apple Days.
