GOLF
CLUB – Spring
2008 will mark our 4th
year doing the golf club. The
club is a wonderful chance to experience a wonderful sport in a great outdoor
environment. Best of all, it’s
free! The Golf Club is open to K-5
students who are serious about wanting to learn the game of golf as well as have
a great time. Golf clubs and all
other expenses are provided. If you
are interested in participating please come to a parent meeting in Mr.
Richards’ room 19 on Monday, March 10th at 12:50 pm.
This will be a quick 5 minute meeting to discuss the details.
Lafayette 'swings' into their second year with a golf
club....thank you Mr. Richards! Kindergarten thru Fifth Grade students are
all part of this exciting club. Each and every Wednesday afternoon after
school, you'll find these five to eleven-year-olds swinging away and perfecting
their game at our Eureka Muni Golf Course. Many parents and helpers come
to watch and also participate. If you have any questions, please leave a
message with our school's office at 441-2482 and Mr. Richards will contact you.

Lafayette's
5th Grade Basketball News and Happenings
We are really 'on the ball' with our 5th grade girls and boys
Basketball Team. This is Lafayette's second year participating in the
school league. We compete with school teams who have been participating in the
Humboldt County league for many years. All Lafayette 5th grade students
are welcome and encouraged to participate in this fun sport. Students who
do not have their homework completed and turned in will not be allowed to
practice or play in our games .. we stress both academic, team work, and fun
sports!
Practice is held every Tuesday and Thursday after school until we complete our
sports schedule. S
Students must participate in the team practice before meets. At
all practices we have a team meeting, stretches, a warm up jog, then practice
with drills and a scrimmage. If you have any
