One exciting way for parents to get involved in school is through the SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL which provides guidance and governance to our school improvement program. With the implementation of President Bush's 'No Child Left Behind' program, we are more in need than ever for parents to become involved in the site council. Please contact your child's teacher or me if you are interested in being a part of this decision making body.
The School Site Council was established to identify common goals for school improvement, establish a plan to achieve these goals, and oversee a budget, which is reflective and supportive of the plan. It is composed of the Principal, three teachers, one other staff member, and five parents. Parents are elected for a two-year term. If you are interested in serving on the Lafayette School Site Council, please contact our Principal Kathleen Honsal - 441-2482.
