LEARN TO EARN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT SCHOOL in the morning! It's easy to open an account!  Simply have your child bring a completed, signed information form and at least $1 to the Learn to Earn representative on bank day (Wednesday).  With each deposit, your child will receive a prize.  It’s that easy!  Existing account holders remember to bring; Learn to Earn bag, passbook, and first school year deposit.

SHOES A MUST
As weather improves, some students are wearing flip-flops or sandals to school.  This type of footwear is unsafe for an active school setting.  Please ensure that students ear sturdy shoes, suitable for P.E. and other school activities.  Also, please no shoes with rollers on them.  Thank you!

DROP-OFF/PICK-UP ZONES Reminder, please observe our traffic flow pattern.  Adults driving children to school should be aware that we have a designated Yellow Zone (yellow markings on pavement) for dropping students off and picking them up. Please pull close to the yellow curb when you drop or pick them up. Please do NOT park and leave your vehicle in the yellow zone.    Please observe the NO PARKING signs and cones next to the fence.  Pull ahead to the yellow zone.  Thank you!!!

When adults are on campus to visit, pick up or drop off students, or volunteer in the classroom, please use the ADULT  RESTROOMS located directly across from the office.  these restrooms are kept locked and a key is available in the office.  STUDENT RESTROOMS ARE FOR CHILDREN ONLY!

Parents, Visitors and Volunteers are always welcome!  PLEASE report to the office when you arrive, sign-in, and get a visitor's badge.  Thank you!

Going to miss school?  Please call the office .. 441-2482! Please call the office and let us know if your child is going to miss school even if you have already told your child's teacher.  If you receive a call from the office regarding your child's absence, please return our call otherwise the absence is unexcused.

Students should NOT arrive at school before 7:40 am.  Adult supervision is not provided until this time.
School starts at 8:10 am - Tardiness delays the start of the instructional day.  Please make every effort to have your child here on time.  Don't forget breakfast is FREE and available every morning starting at 7:40 am.

We encourage you to prepay ahead for your child's lunches.  This can be arranged with our cafeteria staff or send a note and payment with your child.  If your child brings lunch money daily, they can take it to the cafeteria before school, preventing any loss of money during the day.  Thank you!

LOST AND FOUND - Have you noticed the shopping carts in the cafeteria?  The Co-Op has donated 4 shopping carts for us to use to gather the clothing left around campus.  Each week a different cart will be filled with the found clothing.  At the end of the fourth week the clothes still in the cart will be donated to charity.  Please talk to your children about remembering to gather their clothing at recess.  We still have many lost and found items.  Clothing is located in the cafeteria.  Jewelry is kept in the office. Please write your child’s name near the collar of their sweatshirt or jacket.  This will make it easier to identify found clothes. Having their name on their hat, scarf, backpack, and lunch pail is a must as well!  Thank you....

We Believe That . . .

1.  Lafayette students take care of each other .
If a student is hurt, everything stops and the nearest person to the injured student is required to assist that student until he/she is able to return to the activity.

2.  Lafayette students solve problems in a productive way.
If there is an argument in a game, the arguing students must settle their differences outside of the game before returning to play.  This means that students will not be held hostage by others who have a disagreement.
All of our students are trained yearly on the vocabulary and principles of conflict management.  Students learn to solve problems appropriately, without violence, resulting in a "win-win" situation.
