What is M.A.R.E.?

·        M.A.R.E. (Marine Activities Resources & Education) is a whole school program that engages teachers, students, parents, administrators, and the community. 

·        M.A.R.E. transforms elementary schools into dynamic laboratories for the study of the ocean.

·        M.A.R.E. is designed to enrich science instruction for all students while promoting equity, language acquisition and academic excellence among English language learners.

·        M.A.R.E. was created by the Lawrence Hall of Science at the University of California at Berkeley and has been successfully implemented in over 250 inland and coastal schools in California, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Michigan, and Colorado. 

 

Dynamic guest speakers and story tellers.

Oceans Week scheduled events include A "Creature Feature" fair with twelve exciting ocean activities stations.

"What Floats Your Boat" regatta/festival which encompasses many different community members and groups displaying boats and other ocean related things, with lots of hands-on activities.
