Crazy Hair Day
We are a group of 4th and 5th grade students who meet at noon, at least once a month, and help plan fun projects for our school's student body. Some of our fun school project include "Spirit Days."
"Spirit Day" is when we plan a P.J. Day, Hat Day, Wear Clothes Backwards Day, Twin Day, or a Red/White/Blue Day. On these "Spirit Days," the entire school, including teachers, dress in the SPIRIT.
We have also approached our very active PTA on numerous occasions for some financial help to add playground equipment (basketball nets) or to help repair some of the equipment.
We are always looking out for the welfare of the students at Lafayette. We have collected canned goods during the holidays and are active in many other projects.
Some of our past projects include:
Developing a presentation for PTA in January
Developing a 'Peace Makers On The Playground' program
Reinforcing healthy play rules at school
Planning monthly fun activities days
Organize a basketball team to be involved in interschool activities &
research uniform costs
Researching several different fund raising activities (i.e., recycling
bottles and cans)
