Lafayette School Site  Council Minutes - October 15, 2008

Meeting was called to order by Principal Kathleen Honsal at 5:30 pm Members present:  Shana Cox (Parent), Kathleen Honsal (Principal), Lynn Intersimone Teacher), Susan Johnson (Teacher), Phoebe Marsh (Parent), Lani Nelson (Teacher), Sandy Powell (Parent), Martha Rangel (Parent), Carol Skaggs (Library Tech)   Not present: Maria Castillo (Parent).  

After introductions and a warm welcome to our new members, new members were given Site Council binders.

Minutes from the May 29, 2008 Site Council Meeting were approved as submitted.

No public input received.

Sandy Powell was nominated and elected as our Site Council Chairperson; Carol Skaggs was nominated and elected as our Site Council Secretary.  Kathleen Honsal handed all members the School Site Council Annual Calendar and page 27 (the signed and attested page) of our 2008-09 Single Plan for Student Achievement.

Motion was made and passed to consolidate our EIA/SCE, GATE, and SLIBG funding into a School Based Coordinated Program (SBCP) Fund.  Principal Kathleen Honsal stated she would send all members a copy of the individual budgets before our next School Site meeting.  The Council will need to update the School Plan, revising and/or adding new goals after reviewing our school’s test scores thereby appropriating funding accordingly.

New members were invited and encouraged to attend a Site Council Training session presented by the County and held at HCOE on October 23, 2008 at 5:30 pm .

Next Site Council Meeting  .. Wednesday, November 5^th at 5:30 pm in the Learning Center .  Meeting adjourned 5:55 pm
