When helping your child pick out a costume, please keep these points in mind: NO SCARY MASKS, OR items that look like BLOOD! Also please remember WEAPONS of any kind ARE NOT ALLOWED AT SCHOOL...even toy weapons (swords, guns, hatchets, etc.) If your child's costume includes a weapon please make sure they leave that part of the costume at home. Costumes also need to follow MODESTY rules. Please monitor them so that they are not too short or revealing for school attire. Students in grades 1-5 need to bring a change of clothes so they can continue with their regular day without ruining their costume. COMFORTABLE SHOES ARE A MUST!
Reminder: Parents of First thru Fifth graders, PLEASE wait and meet your student (s) in the front of the school ... Thank you!

COMING
October 27th ... LIONS LOOPS! Monday,
October 27th is a major PTA fundraising event that benefits Lafayette's school
activities. The money raised from LIONS LOOPS helps to fund many of the
great programs and activities the PTA sponsors at Lafayette throughout the year.
Each class at Lafayette will participate in this event in which students will
walk/jog/run a loop of 175 meters as many times as they can in a 20-minute time
period. Each student will be asking friends and relatives to sponsor them
by pledging to pay a certain amount for each lap completed, or a specific
donation amount.
Thanks in advance for your help and support.
Got Tennis Balls? : Did you know that our school can utilize new and used tennis balls? Yes, they are used to cover the feet of student chairs. These items help to keep our classes not only quiet but also save the wear and tear on the chairs and floors. For more information talk to your child's teacher or call the school office (441-2482).
Too
Early! : Your students should not arrive on
campus before 7:40 am. Adult supervision is not provided until this
time. Students remain in the cafeteria until 8 am when they are dismissed
to go to the play area. School begins promptly at 8:10.
Please do not send or drop off your student before 7:40 am!
Lunch: We encourage you to prepay ahead for your child's lunches. This can be arranged with our cafeteria staff or send a note and payment with your child. If your child brings lunch money daily, they can take it to the cafeteria before school, preventing any loss of money during the day.
BOX TOPS for EDUCATION: Box tops are back! Please save your BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION coupons. They are on any General Mills products. Before turning them in please trim them down to just the coupon only. They can be turned in to your child's classroom or the office anytime! Monthly box top classroom winners will get to display the "official box top trophy" in their classroom. The class with the most wins will get an ice cream party in June! So start saving / collection today ... remind your neighbors and grandparents as well! Congrats to Mrs. Stewart's 1st grade class for the 170 box tops collected in September! Mrs. Stewart's class will have the TROPHY in her class for the entire month of October....way to go 1st grade!
