First year EAST students at EHS, Adriana Newland, Amia Green, Elizabeth Shimek, and Alexis Wade, conducted a Book Drive for the month of December at Eureka High School. The four Freshmen placed boxes around the school to collect the new and gentle used books. Students and staff at Eureka High donated more than 200 books, which ranged from Dr. Seuss to teen chapter books like The Lord of the Rings. Students at Marshall Resource Center and Lafayette Elementary School are able to select books to keep, with a portion going to the teachers' classroom libraries.
Eureka High School will be hosting our incoming 9th grade and new student Open House on Thursday, January 19th. We will offer a special presentation on Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment with College of the Redwoods, and Honors courses from 5:15 to 5:40pm in the cafeteria. At 5:45pm, the general welcome will begin in the cafeteria and then we will move on to the gym from 6-7pm to meet staff and students from a variety of departments and programs. EHS is home to rigorous academics, the widest variety of electives and Career Technical Education course in the county, a full athletic program and many diverse clubs. Please join us to see why EHS is the premiere high school on the North Coast. Do not hesitate to call us with any questions at 707-441-2508. Go Loggers!
