Probationary I Special Education Teachers Resource and Special Day Class

The following are vacancies for which applications for the 2018-2019 school year are currently being accepted by Eureka City Schools.  We anticipate the need for the following Special Education Teachers:

POSITIONS: Probationary I Special Education Teachers – POOL

                      Resource and Special Day Class (SDC)             


CREDENTIAL: California Specialist Credential in Special Education—Resource or Education Specialist Instruction Credential—Mild/Moderate with CTC required authorizations or Moderate/Severe Disabilities; English Language Learners Authorization. (Secondary schools:  Supplemental in a core subject area or VPSS in a core subject area may be required in the future.)                                        

SITES: Various

START DATE: August 20, 2018                                                

SALARY: Placement on the teachers’ salary schedule according to experience and educational units (see reverse side of announcement).  We award up to 10 years previous teaching experience for placement on the salary schedule. May be eligible for hiring bonus up to $6,000.Qualifies for District health benefits for the employee and his/her dependents.

DESIRABLE: Experience working with students with special needs (behavioral, emotional, autism, and/or physical needs) is desired.  Knowledge of ASL and life skills curriculum experience is helpful.
