Our Strategic Plan

Strategic planning provides change.

Eureka City Schools is dedicated to the strategic planning process. The District Plan is developed by a large group of teachers, classified staff, administrators, parents, and community members. The Plan is designed to be a five-year road map for the District. Each year, representatives review the Plan for progress, continued relevance to the District, and to make necessary changes to the Plan.

Each school also has its own Site Plan that is developed and reviewed through the same process as the District Plan.

In all, Eureka City Schools holds about fifteen planning days each year to assure continuity and alignment throughout the system. Parents and community members are encouraged to be involved with the District’s strategic planning process.

In 1994, the District Strategic Planning Team developed the strategies in the areas listed below. The District will continue to focus on these areas as we implement our new strategies.

  • Service-learning opportunities in all grades
  • A safe, disruption-free learning environment
  • Engage all parents or primary caregivers in their children’s education
  • Programs of choice with viable educational options
  • Measurable academic standards
  • Appropriate technology for the classroom and for District operations
  • Lasting partnerships with students
  • Cooperative and collaborative working relationships
  • Opportunities for students to develop interpersonal skills.
  • Innovative support from public and private sources.
