Zane’s Leadership class will be having an exhibit reception at the Humboldt County Library for their recently completed Photo Voice Project. The community is invited to view posters documenting community needs for safe routes to Zane Middle School and meet the student creators. The exhibit reception will be Saturday, January 28th at 2:00 p.m. at the Humboldt County Library, 1313 Third St., Eureka. The display is in the Young Adult reading room and will be up for the month of February. This Photo Voice project is a collaboration between DHHS Public Health, Redwood Community Action Agency, BikesThere and Zane Middle School.
The Photo Voice Project was championed by Hilary Manion and her Leadership class at Zane, Manion shares the importance of the project, "This project has been a wonderful opportunity for our Zane Leadership Class. It has given them a chance to not only learn the artistic, technological, and ethical aspects of digital photography, but to reflect on their ability to get themselves to school safely by their own power and the potential challenges they face in doing so.”
