Opportunity Program Specialist
What is a YEOP Specialist?
Youth Employment Opportunity Program (YEOP) Specialists assist youth between the ages of 15 and 25, who are at-risk of not achieving their educational and vocational goals, including high school dropouts and potential dropouts. The program emphasizes education, assessment, peer advising, and employment.
To apply for a YEOP Specialist position, you must be:
- ·Between the ages of 15 and 25
- ·Currently enrolled in college taking at least six semester or eight quarter units, or currently enrolled in high school studying to obtain a high school diploma or a general education diploma.
- ·Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- ·Able to communicate with all levels of staff and diverse audiences.
- ·Computer literate.
In addition, YEOP Specialists must meet one at-risk characteristic, as follows: youth with a disability, economically disadvantaged, limited English skills, foster or homeless youth, member of a minority group, teen parent, or youth offender.
