EHS AVID Students Tour Colleges

On September 30-October 2, the Eureka High School AVID Classes of 2016 and 2017 travel to Oregon for their annual tour of colleges. This year, the students chose to visit University of Oregon, Oregon Institute of Technology and Southern Oregon University. The 3 day trip provided an opportunity for the 37 EHS students to see and experience college/campus life as they continue to pursue their goals of attending college.

Eureka High has been offering AVID since 2006 and currently has 160 students enrolled in AVID. EHS is the only high school in Northern Humboldt that offers the AVID Elective classes for Freshmen-Seniors. AVID is the Advancement Via Individual Determination, and equips every student with skills to approach the increasing challenges of school with confidence and preparedness to carry them to secondary education and beyond.
