Eureka City Schools, in conjunction with Klamath Trinity Joint Unified School District and Humboldt State University, has been awarded a Federal Grant in the amount of $2.2 million dollars to implement Arts Education in grades TK-8 over the next four years.
This will be a comprehensive, coordinated arts education program that integrates visual arts, music, dance, theatre, media arts, and folk arts throughout the TK-8 English, math, science, and history curricula. The project and integration will align with both the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in English language arts and math and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
Working together with HSU and other local arts organizations will allow Eureka City Schools to support art instruction and integration in over 80 local classrooms.
