General Meetings are held on the 3^rd Tuesday of each month, at 7 p.m. We meet at the EHS Family Resource Center, a portable building on the Marshall Campus. All Eureka High PTSA members are encouraged to attend.

“Project Runway: A Passion for Fashion 2008”

A big THANK YOU to all of the community members, parents and students who helped with the PTSA Fashion Show, “Project Runway: A Passion for Fashion 2008”. It was great fun for the kids and we even raised $2500 for scholarships. Many, many people helped pull this all together to make it happen. First I’d like to thank all the staff who stepped up to coordinate Eureka High and PTSA activities. Leif Shrecengost built the walkway and organized the light and music crew. Karen Wilson and Pam Marvel assisted with all the clerical and office organization as well as the program. Thank you Kevin Scheffler for being there the night of the show and assisting behind the scenes, Kevin Kleckner for organizing the color guard and being there to help, and Larry Hanson for participating in the show with his Harley-Davidson, and to Adina Lawson and the theater class for being so accommodating and giving up valuable rehearsal time so that we could use the auditorium. And especially to the teachers whose rooms were used as dressing rooms; I apologize if we didn’t leave them the way we found them.

We had over 65 students both in the show and working behind the scenes along with twenty parents. Everyone played a very important role but Debbie Pfannenstiel and Laurie McKenny acquired $1300 in sponsorships and organized the merchants who participated. Along with Debbie Olson, they also picked up and returned all of the clothing from 15 merchants, totaling 79 outfits!

Special thanks goes out to students Mistress of Ceremonies, Allison Kimura, who did a superb job of introducing the models and the merchants, Kristen Callahan for her wonderful selection of music, and lastly the student government class and advisor, Stacy Gonzalez for publicity and many various activities that made the show possible.

This year’s senior models were given a chance to win one of five $100 scholarships and various the coupons, while everyone else had chances to win coupons as well as a two hour Xtreme Limousine Rental. It was wonderful to be able to thank our models for a wonderful and very fun show. Scholarships

The Eureka High School PTSA offers Graduating High School Senior Scholarships in the amount of $500.00 each to acknowledge the achievements of high school seniors for volunteer service in the school and community. Please note that most senior projects are considered to be school or community service by PTA.

The application and instruction for the Eureka High PTSA scholarship will be available in the counseling office May 1 and will be due on or before May 27. Scholarships will be awarded at the Senior Honors Program at Eureka High on June 5.

You are required to be a PTA member and submit a copy of your PTA membership card with your application. Dues is $5.00 per member and can be paid in the counseling office or by enclosing your payment in any envelope, with your name, address and phone number or email address, and delivering it to Eureka High School – Attn: PTSA.

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon and Awards

Each year, the Eureka High PTSA gives recognition to individuals for their outstanding contribution to the youth of Eureka High School. This year’s teacher appreciation luncheon will be held on May 15 in the school library.
