Four-Year College UC/CSU Admission Requirements
English 4 years, 40 credits, 8 semesters
Must pass Sophomore English and Comp II (11th grade)
4 years of College Prep English that includes frequent and regular writing, reading of classic and modern literature, poetry and drama
Social Science 3 years, 30 credits, 6 semesters
Must pass: World History and Geography (or Naval History), U.S. History, Civics, and Economics (or Ag Economics)
2 years to include 1 year of World History and Geography, plus 1 year of U.S. History or 1/2 year of U.S. History and 1/2 year of Civics/American Government
Math 2 years, 20 credits, 4 semesters
Must pass 1 year of Algebra – either Algebra 1, CPM 1, or the Algebra A,B,C,D sequence
3 years (4 preferred) to include Algebra 1/CPM 1 or equivalent, Geometry/CPM 2, and Algebra 2/CPM 3. Math analysis (traditional or CPM) and Calculus are recommended.
Science 2 years, 20 credits, 4 semesters
Must pass 1 year of Biology and 1 year of Geo Science
2 years (3 preferred) in lab science in at least 2 of these 3 areas: Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Geo Science. Lab Science courses at EHS are: Advanced Biology, Advanced Marine Biology, Environmental Field Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, AP Biology, Geo Science CP, Chemistry, Chemistry Honors, and Physics.
