Web Page Design with HTML and CSS

Class Objectives:

Students will have fun creating and building their own web pages using Hyper Text Mark-up Language (HTML) as well as Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Students will learn how to use Windows efficiently and manage computer files. After taking this class, students will know how to build a professional website. They will also know how to prepare themselves for the future, and how to find out more about new technologies like XHTML and XML.

Grading:

Work Habits/Participation

1. You are in attendance, on time, and with necessary supplies. (Note: hall passes will cost you points!)
2. You are involved and attentive to discussions and class activities (on task).
3. You are respectful of the teacher's right to teach and each student's right to learn.
4. You are respectful of all classroom equipment and software.

Notebook

You will need a three-ring binder to keep handouts and your computer-generated and hand-written notes. Notes need to be kept chronologically (by date). You will not be expected to memorize tags and elements; however, you do need to know how to keep, use, and find notes (a common life-skill). You will also need to keep printouts of some assignments (both tags and web pages).
