The
Gilder-Lehrman US History program asks students to examine
documents like the images above, both of which were created
at approximately the same time in history, and ask hard
questions like, "What do these images reveal about
America in the 1940's? How did WWII imact the position
of African Americans? What can these images teach us about
America today?"
