Description Quick Info 4 Year Plan

  Description

This pathway is designed for students whose efforts in the study of world languages merit special recognition. It is meant to reward those students who complete four years of study in a language other than their native language including students who are taking English as a second language.

The pathway is geared toward students with a strong interest and commitment to language learning and the exploration of different cultures. Knowing more than one language provides students with greater opportunities on the global spectrum in a humanistic and an economic sense. Furthermore, studies have shown that students who study other languages score higher on SAT tests.

Advanced language classes offer students the opportunity to take the Advanced Placement Test and in certain cases, participate in an HSU concurrent enrollment program. Thus they can earn college credit while still in high school.
